If not I'd stay with the Teensy since real time Linux can be tricky if you don't know the OS. If you are a Linux programmer and understand real time Linux then maybe a PI would be a good choice for you. Again not all libraries are good so use with caution. Even though I don't like it it is a good place for beginners to start since it's simple and there are a lot of libraries available. So look at the code and be picky about what you use.Įven though I think it's the worse programming environment out there there is support for the Teensy (and maybe Daisy) in the Arduino environment. That being said there is a lot of bad code out there and some good code. There might be some code you could use as a base or use as a reference to start with. You're doing this now but I'd do an internet search and see what is out there already for these platforms. I can't say what is the best programming environment because I was a HW/SW embedded engineer when I worked.
